EXAM ESSAYS

Traditional methodologies still better than modern methodologies

Traditional methodologies consider that education is based on theory, and modern methodologies consider that education is based on practice and hands on learning achieves.

On the on hand, modern education is very useful for children because they learn a lot of things through world and their experience with their own world.

On the other hand, traditional education is simple because children learn with books and exams are more important than their own development.

In my opinion, teachers are responsible for children´s education. And they are our future. I think that children must learn through their own experience, with their eyes and their hands, because this is the best learning for me.

In conclusion, traditional methodologies are practical and simple for teachers, but for children is not helpful, because they don´t learn. But with modern methodologies children learn more things because they have experience with their own world.

E-MAIL

Dear Maria,

I haven´t written to you for so long, because I have had a lot of work at University. You know this is my first year at college to become a teacher.

This year I have had a lot of work, and exams were very long and difficult for me and my friends.

I thought that University was the same as high school, but it is different because I have got class three days a week, and I have a lot of time to study subjects. The thing that I don´t like about college is that most teachers aren´t in the class because they live in Mallorca and we study in Ibiza, and the lessons are through videoconference.

And, what do you do?

Best wishes,
Laura.

 COMPOSITION 1

My name is Laura, I was born in Ibiza, on the 28th of February in 1991.
I have one brother, his name is Toni, and he is eighteen years old.
Now, he is studying at the High School.
When we were children, we usuall argued and screamed, but nowadays we help each other in different situations.
I´ve always lived in a country house, with my mother, my grandmother and my brother. In my house there are a lot of animals, and this is a reason why, when I was young girl I wanted to be a veterinarian, so I could cure them.
But, when I was fifteen years old, more or less, I decided that I wanted to be a teacher. Since then I haven´t changed this decision, and nowadays I am studying to be a teacher.
I finished high school, and I did the University entrance exam, but the mark was too low to get into the University in Ibiza. It was very difficult for me because I had worked hard but I didn´t pass this test.
For this reason, I did the vocational training course in Infant Education in San Antonio and now I am an educator, I learned a lot experience with children when I worked in an infant school. I remember those days all the time, and I would like to stay there with them.
When I finished it, I was accepted at the University of Ibiza. I have been very happy since then, because become a teacher is my dream.
I love this profession, because children are very intelligent and they want to learn a lot of things about the world and people. When they are young they love to play with whatever and wherever,as long as they are feeling well.
I would like to be a teacher to guide children and help them to build their own learning.
Children are the future of our world.
My plans for the future are to get my degree and find the job where I can help children to become better people and make them respect everything around them, both people and objects.
